TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED

Browsing Data

As part of their normal operation, the IT systems and applications used to run this website collect some personal data, whose transmission is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. These data are not collected to be associated with any identified data subjects but, by their very nature, could allow users to be identified. This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by visitors to the website, Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) addresses of requested resources, request times, methods used to submit requests to the server, size of files obtained in response, status codes indicating server response status (e.g. successful, error) and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and IT environment. These data are used exclusively for gathering anonymous statistics related to website use and to ensure proper functioning of the website. They are deleted immediately after processing. However, the data may also be used to establish liability if cybercrimes are committed against the website.

Data Voluntarily Submitted by Users

When users voluntarily submit personal data via registration forms and/or email addresses provided on the website, the system records this data to deliver the requested services. Specific summary privacy notices will be published or displayed on the web pages set up for particular services which are available on request.

COOKIES

Cookies are small text files stored on a user’s device when they visit a website. Cookies are primarily used to make websites work more efficiently, and to provide information to website owners. Cookies can be classified as first-party or third-party. First-party cookies are managed by the website owner who is required to issue an information notice and provide cookie blocking options. Third-party cookies are managed by an external entity, other than the website owner. The third party is responsible for providing privacy information options for refusing cookies. The website owner must ensure that the website includes the link to the third party’s website which displays this information.

Below is a breakdown of the cookies stored on our website.

Necessary Cookies are required to the extent strictly necessary for website functionality and navigation. The use of technical session cookies, in particular, is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) which are necessary to allow secure and efficient browsing of the website. These cookies prevent the use of other IT techniques that could potentially compromise the privacy of user browsing and do not collect personal data that could identify the user. No personal data of users is acquired by the website in this context. No cookies are used for the transmission of personal data, nor are any so-called persistent cookies or user tracking systems employed.

Analytical Cookies are used to collect and analyse information about how websites are used (e.g. the time and date of a visit, any previous visits to the website by the same user, the referring website, etc.).  This information (including the user’s IP address) is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to generate reports for Montefarmaco OTC S.p.A. regarding activities on its website. These reports are used to improve the website. Google does not link the IP address with any other data in its possession nor does it attempt to link an IP address to a user’s identity. Google may share this information with third parties when required to do so by law or when third parties process data on its behalf.

Profiling or Advertising Cookies are used to deliver more personalised content tailored to your interests. They may be used to display targeted advertising or to limit advertisement frequency. They also help us measure the effectiveness of online advertising campaigns. We collect information for interest-based advertising according to general interest categories or segments that we determine by:

Tracking web pages you view and links you click on at our websites and affiliated third-party websites

Monitoring brand-related emails you engage with, including links you select within those emails

Most of these cookies track users via their IP address, meaning they may collect identifiable personal data, which is why your explicit consent is necessary.

Additionally, we may use other tracking systems such as pixel tags. Also known as web beacons, these function similarly to cookies but are invisible due to their extremely small size. They help collect certain data from our servers to customise our websites and track user browsing across other websites. We may also embed pixel tags in HTML emails. The information is in no case personally identifiable, though it could be linked to your personal data.

Do we use third-party cookies?

We use various providers who may also set cookies on your device on our behalf when you visit our websites, to enable them to deliver the services they are providing. Any links to third parties or advertisements on our website may also use cookies; you may receive these cookies if you click on the link to a third-party website or an advertisement. We cannot control the collection or use of information by these third parties, whose cookies are not subject to this Privacy Notice. However, you can follow the links to the various third-party websites to refuse consent to installation of their cookies.

For more information about how Google collects and uses data, see the website www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/.
